MomCo at the creek
Our mom's program is one of the longest running ministries at Bell Creek. Formerly known as MOPS is now called The Mom Community or MOMCO at the Creek. We have two meet ups at Bell Creek during September - May school year. Mornings 1st and 3rd Thursdays at 9:30 AM and our new nightshift 2nd and 4th Mondays at 7:00 PM. Come if you are a mom of a child ages birth to 12th grade, and join us as we embrace the journey of motherhood together. Register online and childcare is available at both meet ups.
COMING UP NEXT!
Throughout the year, we like to provide meaningful, and fun spaces for the women of our church! See what's coming up next:
Healing Hearts group
Healing Hearts Ministries was formed to provide Biblical counsel and discipleship to individuals who suffer emotionally and spiritually from the pain, trauma, and affliction of their past. Here at Bell Creek we are happy to have a certified Biblical counselor leading a support group for women. If you are interested in attending the group, or wish to speak to our counselor privately, please click below and she will reach out to you. This form is confidential and goes directly to our counselor.
GETTING TO KNOW YOUR SISTERS...
SUE SCHOTTEN
“I rejoiced with those who said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord.’ (Ps. 122:1 NIV)
This is how I have felt coming to Bell Creek Community Church for the last 18-plus years!
My name is Susan (Sue) Schotten. I am fifty-six years old and became a born-again Christian thirty-two years ago.
I have been married for almost thirty-five years. My husband Chuck and I have two sons. Our oldest, Chris, is thirty-three and is an Advanced Math Teacher at Cranbrook. Chris is married to my daughter-in-love Caytlynn, and they have two girls (our incredibly adorable granddaughters) named Nora and Hazel.
Our other son, Sam is twenty-eight, lives in Lansing, and is soon to be a third-year Resident Physician at Sparrow Hospital. My husband also has a forty-year-old daughter, Amber from his first marriage who lives in Texas with her four children and granddaughter – thereby making my husband a great-grandpa!
We moved to Novi, MI from Crown Point, IN in 1993, and we eventually bought a house in Livonia and settled here. Chuck has been a Certified Personal Trainer for twenty-one years and owns his own business. I was an LPN in Longterm Care for seventeen years before quitting nursing (due to extreme burnout)!
I currently work for HomeInstead Senior Care as a Personal Caregiver, which I love and know is my ministry. We started attending BCCC when our oldest son, Chris was a sophomore at Franklin High School and have been at BCCC ever since.
We don’t have family here so this is our family! I have served in various capacities including Hospitality, Women’s Discipleship, Kid’s Creek/Registration, transportation for Residents of Parkside, and currently Awanas on Wednesday nights.
My husband was diagnosed with Stage 2B Bladder Cancer on 7/4/21. He had three MVAC Chemo Transfusions and underwent a ten-hour surgery at U of M Hospital on 10/21/21. I praise God that we were grounded in this church where many came alongside of us with Christ-like love, personal and corporate prayer, offering comfort and encouragement through cards, meals, and support. I have many sisters in the Lord here that are truly gifts. Thankfully, the Lord healed my husband miraculously, he remains cancer-free (albeit anatomically changed)!
All glory to God!!!
